Running Gear & Out-of-Water Boat Yard Work

We’re no strangers to the boat yard. If you’re pulling your boat out, it’s worth taking a look before the haul or right after — there are systems that are far better dealt with out of the water and on the hard. We offer a wide range of mechanical maintenance and repair services, and we go a step further than most: treating symptoms isn’t always the solution. We figure out what led to the problem in the first place so we can fix it for good and keep it from coming back.

Running Gear Repair

Running gear is our number one job out of the water. We repair and replace propellers, shafts, struts, rudders and rudder ports, shaft seals, shaft couplers, stuffing boxes, steering assemblies, engine mounts, strut bedding, cutlass bearings, and more — plus engine alignment to keep it all running true.

Outboard Engine Service — 100 & 300 Hour

We handle 100-hour and 300-hour services on Yamaha, Mercury, and Suzuki outboards, keeping your engines on schedule and running strong.

Thru-Hulls, Bonding & Onboard Systems

Beyond running gear, we also service thru-hulls, seacocks, bow thrusters, underwater lights, bonding systems, and trim tabs.

Cutlass Bearing Replacement & Engine Alignment

Changing cutlass bearings with our hydraulic press tools means we can often do the job for less than the competition — we don’t have to pull the shafts and cut the bearings out. And when we change cutlass bearings, we often find the engine’s alignment to the strut and stern tubes is off. That hurts performance and wears down everything on your boat: shaft seals, bearings, isolator mounts, even transmissions. A little alignment can change the way your boat runs dramatically and save you from some very expensive repairs down the line.
